The conference serves to educate athletic trainers and physical therapists from all over Texas and the surrounding states on many different issues related to caring for athletes. Its attendees were able to participate in hands-on lab sessions as well as learn from some of the city/country's leading experts in sports medicine.
Dr. Raynor Returns to Lecture at the Vail International Complex Knee Symposium 2018
Dr. Raynor returned to Vail, CO this week as returning faculty at the Vail International Complex Knee Symposium (VICKS 2018).
This is a premier knee course focusing on the evaluation and anatomic treatment of complex knee injuries. The course draws some of the most famous surgeons around the world as faculty and is focused on conquering complexity through collaboration.
Dr. Raynor served as a laboratory instructor demonstrating anatomy and complex knee surgical techniques to surgeons from many different countries who attended the conference. He also gave lectures on the diagnosis and management of medial patellofemoral instability and proximal tib-fib joint instability as well as a live surgical demonstration on complex meniscal repairs.
Dr. Raynor Speaks at the Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society Annual Meeting
Dr. Raynor returned to Nashville, TN to attend and speak at the annual Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society (VOS) meeting. Former residents and fellows gathered to discuss complex issues related to sports-related injuries this year. Dr. Raynor lectured on hip arthroscopy and the diagnosis and treatment of hip labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI).
Dr. Raynor Returns as Sports Medicine Faculty for the Texas Orthopaedic Association Annual Meeting in Ft. Worth
Dr. Raynor returned as faculty/speaker this year at the Texas Orthopaedic Association annual meeting in Ft. Worth. He joined Dr. Christian Balldin, Dr. Jeff Padalecki, and Dr. Henry Ellis as sports medicine faculty discussing the evaluation and treatment of difficult problems encountered in the knee, hip, and shoulder. Dr. Raynor specifically lectured on the evaluation and treatment of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and hip labral tears in the athlete using hip arthroscopy and discussed the applications and outcomes related to labral reconstruction.

Dr. Raynor Serves as Faculty Lecturer at AANA Fall Course 2017
Dr. Raynor joined a highly-esteemed list of faculty when he lectured at the Arthroscopy Association of North America Fall Course this past weekend in Palm Desert, California. He gave an update on the efficacy of microfracture in the treatment of articular cartilage defects, highlighting some of the newer alternatives and augmentations to the technique. He also served as part of a panel discussion with Dr. Brian Cole, Dr. Robert LaPrade, Dr. Jorge Chahla, Dr. Scott Faucett, and Dr. Mark Hutchinson discussing complex meniscal and articular cartilage situations. He helped instruct the posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction mini-fellowship.

Shoulder Instability Research Presented at Podium of the AOSSM Annual Meeting
Dr. Raynor presented his research on outcomes after pancapsular plication for multidirectional shoulder instability at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) national meeting in Orlando, Fl.
“Overall, patient satisfaction postoperative was nine out of 10,” Martin Brett Raynor, MD, said during his presentation at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting. “The subgroup analysis looking at traumatic onset vs. atraumatic onset, the atraumatic group had overall lower postoperative scores than the traumatic group, but they still had significant improvement from preoperatively. The only exception was the SANE score..."
